If you have any trouble or questions then contact me at
worldcup@axisandallies.net and I will assist you.

All tournament games with the exception of the final have a two
month time limit. If your game is not completed within this limit
it will be subjected to adjudication. The rules for adjudication
can be found in the tournament section of the IAAPA website or by
following this link:
www.axisandallies.net/pub...cation.txt

I suggest that whenever you win a tournament game that you check
the tournament bracket of whatever event that you are participating
in to see who your next opponent is and if that person is ready.

You can find the tourney brackets in the tournament page of the IAAPA
website: www.axisandallies.net/pub...rneys.html . OR on
the main page of the site click on "Tourney info" link (found on the
left side).

While I update the brackets fairly regularly and send out pairing
notices it would often be faster if players help me (and themselves)
out by checking the tourney brackets to see if their next opponent
is ready to play.

If you find that your next opponent is available to play then please
send out a challenge letting them know that it is a tournament game.
Don't forget to notify me when you do this by sending me the
tournament name and game number as well as your opponents name.

This should be standard procedure for any tournament player!

TURN SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
1. A player is required to submit at least one turn every 5 days
unless prior notification is given.
2. The notice should include the reason for the delay and the date
that play is expected to resume
3. If your opponent has not sent in his turn it is suggested that
you contact him and make an inquiry about the delay.
4. If you opponent has not sent in his turn within 5 days, and has
not sent you a notice explaining the delay, as per (2) above, then
you may follow the forfeit procedures.

FORFEITS
You may initiate a forfeit only if your opponent has not submitted
his turn within 5 days and has not complied with the turn submission
guidelines then you may initiate a forfeit.

A WORD FROM JohnPin569, Minister of Law.

Greetings Fellow Warriors,

Due to the nature of tournaments, it is critical to get your turns
out in a timely manner. As such, if your opponent has an unannounced
absence of more than five days, it is very important to immediately
initiate the forfeit procedure by sending out the Impending
Forfeiture Notice.

If a player has repeated unannounced absences, two or three, I may
still call the game as a forfeit. This will be assessed on a case
by case basis.

Also, please notify the Minister of Tournaments and myself if a
player has repeated announced absences, usually three or more.
Again, this will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Please note that there are no official published guidelines for this,
due to the many different factors that are taken into account, for
example, past gaming history, number of prior forfeits, health (we
once had a member with cancer that was subject to hospitalizations),
etc.

You can contact me at: law@axisandallies.net

Take care.
JohnPin569 (Minister of Law)

It is the responsibility of all tournament players to follow the turn
submission guidelines and to initiate the forfeit proceedure if their
opponents are not complying with said guidelines. It is up to you to
familiarize yourself with the forfeit rules (which can be found on
the website message boards) or:
www.axisandallies.net/pub...FEITS.html

RD 5 ADJUDICATION RULE

This rule comes into effect in 2002 for all current and future
tournaments

If a pairing has not reached rd5 at the call for adjudication then
neither player will advance. Rd 5 means US5 must have been
completed.

** EXCEPTION **

The exception being that if a player follows the forfeit procedure
(ie - sending a forfeit notice to the player, law office and cc'd
to me) then I will have a prior knowledge, proof if you will, of
the situation (that this players opponent has been playing slowly).

By sending in a forfeit notice you are creating a record of the
progress (or lack thereof) of your game.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You need to have complied with the forfeit
procedure prior to receiving the adjudication notice before
I will take it into account.

OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES:
Another problem may be that your opponent goes on vacation or out
of town several times over the course of your game but sends you
notification each time. You should save these notifications from
your opponent and if your game does go to adjudication and has
not reached rd5 then I will take this information into account.

The groups were created by random drawing performed by a neutral
person (RedDwarf). No players were seeded.

The first round game should be started by May 29th at the latest.
The second round game should be started by June 12th at the latest.
The third round game should be started by June 26th at the latest.

Those three games have to be finished by November 30th.
